I find that I use poker face images for a couple of reasons: 1) I have a poker face, so anything that looks poker-ish in my avatar is likely to be poker-ish in a real-life poker game. 2) I like the effects it has on others.
I think poker is a game that makes very good use of a face. I know that some people don’t like the effect, or don’t use it that often. I think part of a great poker face is that it has the ability to draw attention to itself.

Now if someone were to use this card image for a real-life poker game, and the player got dealt a four, this would be a very different image.
